The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity (Hofkirche) in Dresden, Germany is beautiful to look at inside and out. The church was built in the style of the late Italian Baroque and after almost complete destruction on 13.02.1945 carefully reconstructed.
The inside of the building shines brightly. The figures of St. Ambrose and St. Augustine, two church fathers who are specifically linked to the 'foundation' of the Church in general and the church, are both the work of Balthasar Permoser.
St. Ambrose, born 339 (Trier), died 4 April 397 (Mailand), is the patron saint of bees, beekeepers and candle makers. He is usually depicted with bees or a hive.
