Mission San José y San Miguel de Aguayo is a historic Catholic mission in San Antonio, Texas, USA. It was founded on February 23, 1720 to serve the Coahuiltecan Indians.

The church, which is still standing, was constructed in 1768 from local limestone. It is still in operation. The Mission rounds are expansive. They provide a peaceful walk and give you a sense of the community that they must have had back then. The old mill in the back is still functioning, and where the arches are today is what is left of the old convent. Even though the Alamo in the middle of downtown San Antonio has the glamor of a legendary story with legendary figures in history, you can sense the history in a place like Mission San José much more than at the Alamo.
